What is Phantom BOM ?
Phantom BOM is the term used for BOM that used to produce sub-assemblies that are not stocked. Items or subassemblies produced from Phantom BOM are used in the later stage in the manufacturing process. Therefore, the items are produced and comsumed. It will not be stocked.
One of the benefits of phantom BOM is to reduce the levels and complexity of BOM. Please note that Phantom BOM do not linked to any Item card. Therefore it cannot be used to produce end product.
